Dr Renu Bhandari (Ph.D., FHEA) has been an associate lecturer and consultant with the Open University (OU) for the last fifteen years. Her specialisations include counselling psychology, organisational behaviour and developmental psychology. Her primary role sits in the faculty of WELS (Wellbeing, Education and Language Studies). She teaches a range of modules, from Access to post graduate, highlighting issues about child development, childhood studies, early years developing practice, play and creativity in children and psychology. In her role, Renu has been a consistent user and developer of online teaching techniques and tools. She is a monitor and mentor to new staff and, alongside her teaching responsibilities at the Open University, has been playing a key role in monitoring and managing staff. Besides the OU, Renu has experience of working at other higher education (HE) institutions such as the University of Portsmouth and University of Reading. She has also served as a senior lecturer in further education (FE) institutions and has successfully managed HE provisions there.
