About the Journal

Focus and Scope

The Beagle is a bi-annual e journal devoted exclusively to scholarly academic research and writing by students at the University of Greenwich Business School. The journal will feature substantial scholarly academic work by both undergraduates and postgraduates underpinned by robust secondary and, if possible, primary research, relating to students’ learning-related interests, activities or summative assignments carried out as part of their programme assessment. Articles might also relate to work experiences or internships or entrepreneurship, but must robustly link theory and practice by reference to secondary and, if possible, primary research and not be a descriptive ‘story’.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Journal aims

  • To showcase scholarly academic research and writing carried out by students from the UGBS.
  • To encourage young researchers to submit articles to external academic and practitioner journals by providing a vehicle and a launch-pad for honing their skills of research and writing.
  • To support young researchers who may be contemplating undertaking postgraduate programmes in which original research will be an important element.
  • To link to the annual Greenwich conferences on: Research and Enterprise, Learning & Teaching and E Learning. It is envisioned that in the near future a young researchers’ strand could be created at one or more of these conferences, where scholarly student papers could be presented.
  • To support the Greenwich Graduate Attributes Initiative by developing student agency and promoting the educational values of reading, research and learning.
