Author Biography

Rose Heaney, University of East London

Rose Heaney has been a learning technology advisor at UEL since 2004 with particular responsibility for the schools of Health & Bioscience and Psychology where she works alongside academic staff supporting and encouraging them in their use of learning technologies. A current focus of interest is the use of the virtual world Second Life® in healthcare settings. Recent conference presentations and papers include ALT-C 2009 (Manchester, September 2009), 8th European Conference on e-learning (Bari, Italy, October 2009) and National Workshop on Learning in Immersive Worlds (Coventry, Nov 2009). As a recently appointed UEL teaching fellow, Rose is hoping to fi nd more time for evaluation and research activities relating to e-learning innovations. Prior to UEL Rose worked in various IT, e-learning and education roles in the private and public sectors.
